Preparation with purpose

Tuition works best when it has a clear aim.

A diagnostic assessment can show where a child is secure and where support will help most. Build reading, writing and maths foundations first; then prepare for the actual papers used by shortlisted schools, including reasoning where relevant.

Short, consistent practice and feedback from timed papers can be more useful than repeated tests without review. Keep time for reading, rest and confidence. Check each school's current exam format before choosing tutoring or materials.
